Growing up TWO Fast!

I can't believe our baby boy is already 2!!! Time is such a thief and what they say is so true about the days being long but the years so short.  Since Jack Jack is growing up so fast and since he's a total boy that loves cars I decided to do a Race Car Party-Growing Up TWO Fast!
I live for planning and throwing parties.  I just love bringing all the details together and seeing my vision come to life.  Don't get me wrong parties still cause me stress but in the end I love throwing a party.  This year more than ever I love throwing a party.  I'll take any excuse to celebrate and be together with our closest family and friends.

After throwing parties for many years I have go-to places that I do all my shopping and this party was no different.  Expo Events and Tents is my favorite place to find tables, chairs and linens.  I love how they have such a variety like the checked flag runners and napkins that you can't find just anywhere.  I love using linens opposed to plastic tablecloths; it adds just the right touch and everything looks polished and finished.

Debbie from Swanky Party Box is the best vendor to work with!  She's creative, responsive and has such a huge variety of party supplies.  I've used Swanky Party Box for printables for several parties but this party I ordered balloons, banners, garland and printables.  Printables are such an easy and inexpensive way to add customization to a party.  You can grab frames from the Dollar Store or IKEA to display the printables.  My frames are linked below.

Oriental Trading is another must stop for any party planning!  They have every theme under the sun and I was so excited to find the tire thermos', popcorn fuel boxes, checkered sunglasses, and checkered flags.
Every party item is linked below.

Here is what the pit pass printable looked like and I put it inside the lanyard.

For this party we kept everything outdoors on our super long driveway.  The guests were greeted by a chalk race track with toy cars.  The Welcome Cart had a sign, tire, cones, checkered flags and pit passes for the little guests to wear.

The guest tables each had black linens with checkered runners, road signs, cones and checkered flags.  I always set the table for the kids which included a food basket with chips and sunglasses with a thank you tag.  Also at the table was a tire thermo's for each child to keep and a fuel box of popcorn.  The rest of the food was at the food table and we did Raceway Concession food including grandstand hot dogs, pit chips, speedway salad, stop light snacks, spare tires, and winner's circle cupcakes.  The kids table also had road signs, cones, and checkered flags.

The food table is where I used the checkered backdrop, balloon arch and banner.  Next to the table was Jack's high chair that has been lovingly used countless times and has been painted probably a dozen or more times for different parties.  The fabric garland was from Swanky Party Box along with the 2 balloon.  I used white tape to make it look like a road.
